Swimming Centre De Welle in Drachten Sets the Stage for the Open Dutch Masters Championships

From Thursday 8 May to Sunday 11 May, the newly built Swimming Centre De Welle in Drachten will, for the first time, host the Open Dutch Masters Championships (ODMC) long course event, with the focus firmly on masters swimming. The event is organised by DZ&PC in collaboration with the Masters Swimming Taskforce of the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB).

During this four-day championship, 818 masters from 150 clubs, both from the Netherlands and abroad, will compete against one another. They will appear on the starting blocks for a total of 3,698 starts, including 375 relay races. The ODMC serves as the stage where experience, passion, and perseverance come together, and where the Masters’ motto — fitness, friendship, and understanding — can be felt at every moment.

In addition to the sporting battles for titles across various age categories, an impressive series of achievements is also anticipated. Several Dutch, European, and World Masters Records are expected to be broken.
